Statement of record

This work traces the cost of visibility inside systems that mistake interpretation for authority. It documents refusal; not as a reaction, but as structure.

Artist statement

My work begins where language fails. It comes from the parts of the self that are not easily explained.
What I make is not an escape from that space, but a confrontation with it.
I am interested in what remains underneath identity when performance collapses. What makes us fracture, what makes us return, and what it actually takes to hold change without turning it into a story that softens the cost. There is always something at stake in my work. It is not decoration. It is not passive. It asks something of the viewer because it demands something of me first: discipline, honesty, and the willingness to sit inside discomfort without immediately resolving it.What makes me work is not clarity, but tension. The feeling of knowing something is there but not fully visible. The pressure of unresolved history. The awareness that people will rewrite what they cannot understand rather than confront it directly.I am drawn to what is constructed and what is inherited. The images, symbols, and narratives that shape perception across time, whether they are still circulating or have been buried and left unexamined. I use them not to preserve them, but to reposition them, so they cannot be ignored. My work is not here to explain itself. It is here for those who recognize the experience of becoming something new without being able to prove it. For those who understand that transformation is not clean, not immediate, and not always visible to others. If there is something to be saved, it is not the viewer. It is the possibility of remaining present without distortion. Of refusing to replace lived experience with something easier to accept. What keeps me working is the awareness that most people would rather create a story than sit with the truth. What excites me is the moment that breaks, when that story no longer holds. What devastates me is how quickly it is replaced with something easier to accept.I am here to build work that cannot be easily resolved.
To hold tension without collapsing it.
To make visible what is usually edited out.
Not to be understood immediately,
but to remain.
